Homisco's Mobile Wallet platform recognized by the 2011 Global Telecom Innovation Awards.

Homisco, a small technology company based in Melrose, MA, was recently awarded the Mobile Payments Innovation Award at the GTB's Innovation Awards dinner in London.  This award recognizes the technology provider and carrier that best exemplify new and continuing innovation in the mobile payments market.

Each year the GTB's innovation awards honor of the telecom industries most innovative effective and forward thinking companies both technology providers and carriers. This marks the second time the team of Zain and Homisco have been honored by the GTB Innovation Awards. They also won a award at the GSMA Awards in 2010.

Homisco and Zain were recognized for the deployment of Homisco's Mobile Wallet platform and its use in Zain's ZAP mobile commerce and payment program.  The ZAP program, using the mobile wallet technology, enables subscribers with any type of handset to transmit money to other mobile users and to use their handset make purchases with local retailers.  In addition, mobile wallet and ZAP enable subscribers to conduct mobile banking from their handset in communities where access to banking services would otherwise be difficult or impossible.
